MATERNITY AND EARLY CHILDHOOD
Are you awaiting a new baby? Did you recently become a parent? The Center offers you training and services linked to your child’s birth, as well as many activities for children under 5 years old. It is a unique opportunity to get a glimpse of the beauty of birth and to awake your kids to the world surrounding them.
A child’s arrival is always a blessing. However, coping with all the responsibilities is never easy… The family dynamics change. The Center is there for you!
Baby Welcome
This support service is intended for the new and soon to be parents of the military community. If you wish, a service provider and a volunteer can visit you at home. They will be able to answer all your questions concerning a newly arrived baby or give you the contact information of the resources you need. They will also give you samples of baby care products.
Pre-Natal Classes
Take pre-natal classes during one weekend to prepare yourself for your child’s birth. There you will receive advice and information that will, among others, facilitate the delivery.
Being informed will guarantee your success!
Baby Massage Workshop
Come and live an extraordinary moment with your baby. Learn how to make your baby feel good. The massage will help you understand his or her non-verbal language and to answer his or her needs more easily.
Initiate your 0 to 5 year-old child to language, social interaction and creativity through adapted and convivial activities.
Parents-Children Groups
Share a few hours of pleasure with your children and other families in a warm and safe environment that stimulates exchanges and bonding. Three activities are organized during the week:
- Baby Chat: Monday afternoon at Valcartier (0 to 18 month-olds)
- Surprise Box: Wednesday morning in Ste-Foy (0 to 5 year-olds)
- Full of Sun: Thursday morning at Valcartier (0 to 5 year-olds)
Nursery School
At the nursery school, a qualified educator welcomes your children aged from 2 to 5 during 3-hour long periods as well as organizes educational activities.
Initiation To The English Language
It offers your 4 or 5 year-old the possibility to develop his or her taste for second-language learning in an entertaining way.
Parent Library
At the documentation center, you can borrow informational documents, books, magazines and videos on subjects that concern every parent. Books for kids are also available.
Toy Borrowing
Here you can borrow all sorts of educational games for children entertainment. The Toy Borrowing is located in the “Opération Enfant Soleil” room, and is open every Saturday morning. Please contact us to know the opening hours.
