MATERNITY AND EARLY CHILDHOOD
Are you expecting a new baby? Did you recently become a parent? The Center offers you training and services linked to your child’s birth, as well as many activities for children under 5 years old. It is a unique opportunity to get a glimpse of the beauty of birth and to open your children’s eyes to the world around them.
A child’s arrival is always a blessing. However, coping with all the responsibilities is never easy… The family dynamics change. The Center is there for you!
Welcome baby
This support service is intended for the new and soon to be parents of the military community. If you wish, a service provider and a volunteer can visit you at home. They will be able to answer all your questions concerning a newly arrived baby or give you the contact information of the resources you need. They will also give you samples of baby care products.
Pre-Natal Classes
Take pre-natal classes during one weekend to prepare yourself for your child’s birth. There you will receive advice and information that will, among other tjings, facilitate the delivery.
Being informed will guarantee your success!
Baby Massage Workshop
Come and live an extraordinary moment with your baby. The massage will help you understand his or her non-verbal language and to answer his or her needs more easily.
Introduce your 0 to 5 year-old child to language, social interaction and creativity through adapted and convivial activities.
Parents-Children Groups
A warm, secure environment where parents and their children can spend a few pleasant hours exchanging advice and friendship. Three activities are organized during the week:
- Small Talk: Monday afternoon at Valcartier (0 to 18 month-olds)
- Sunny Thursdays: Thursday morning at Valcartier (0 to 5 year-olds)
Nursery School
At the nursery school, a qualified educator welcomes your children aged 2 to 5 during 3-hour periods, and well as organizes educational activities.
Introduction To The English Language
Offers your 4- or 5-year-old the chance to develop his or her taste for second-language learning in an entertaining way
Parenting Library
At the documentation center, you can borrow informational documents, books, magazines and videos on subjects that concern every parent. Books for kids are also available.
"Joujouthèque" Toy Library
Borrow all sorts of toys and educational games for your children’s entertainment. The Toy Library is located in the "Opération Enfant Soleil" room. Please contact us for opening hours.
