CHILDCARE SERVICES

Looking for full-time or casual childcare? The VFC has various childcare services to suit you.

Emergency Childcare Service

In case of emergency, the VFC offers childcare services for children of all ages, available 24/7. However, this service must be seen as a security blanket and be used only as a last resort. We can also help you work out a family childcare plan.

Respite Childcare Service

Are you going through some difficult times? Are you exhausted? Thanks to the Respite Childcare Service, the Valcartier Family Center can provide you with periods of rest. Please note that you must meet the admissibility criteria. Those periods of respite can be used without interruption or on several weeks, depending on your needs. For a respite request, you must make an appointment with a Family Center counsellor who will evaluate your needs.

Occasional Childcare Service

Do you occasionally need a couple of hours without your children? Whether for grocery shopping or a job interview, the Occasional Childcare Service can help you out:

Day Nursery
welcomes children aged 0-2
Mondays and Wednesdays from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Tuesdays, Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to noon and/or noon to 3:30 p.m.

Drop-in Daycare
welcomes children aged 2-5
From Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

A list pointing out other childcare services is also available at the Center’s reception.
